Learn some great Jazz steps from Chester & Jovon and learn some Jazz history along the way.

SWITCH DANCING

Learn some fun and creative ways to switch lead follow roles during your dance with Austin & Kali.

MINI HIP HOP ROUTINE
Learn a mini Hip Hop routine with Steve aka E-Rock and Jovon.

This is a beginning Swing class for those who are new to the dance.

SOLO CLASSES

AFRICAN DANCE: AFRO GROOVE
Learn and share in grounded movement with inspiration from Zambian and Congolese music and dances. Get ready to move those hips. We will learn through play, singing, reflecting, and dancing. 

 

VERNACULAR JAZZ: TAP TO HIP HOP
Learn how Vernacular Jazz has influenced Hip Hop and explore movements that crossover.

MINI HIP HOP ROUTINE
Learn a high energy Hip Hop routine before the dance!


CHA CHA HIP HOP ROUTINE
Learn this unique line dance created by ERock that incorporates Cha Cha influences with Hip Hop.

ANYBODY CAN TAP
No experience or tap shoes required. This class is geared towards beginners and people who want to review or learn more about Tap basics intertwined with history, some laughs, and enough information to actually getting you to TAP (and possibly fry your brains)! All my classes are interactive and... unique

 

ANYBODY CAN TAP CONTINUED…DEATH BY SHOE!

Recommended for dancers that took ”Anybody Can Tap” and dancers with any tap experience at all (yes, even just one class!). No tap shoes required. This class will be focused on tap fusion choreography that can be adapted to all levels. Come learn, sweat, and laugh as Jovon guides you with individual attention. Growth as a dancer awaits you, come join me!

 

JAZZ FUSION

Expect to expand the boundaries of your dancing, your mind, and everything you thought possible! Be warned you will LOVE this class, but you'll be “Fried Brains & Ham” at the end! 

SOLO JAZZ QUEENS
Learn how to  bring your solo dancing to the next level by exploring energy, intuition and improvisation with two of the top solo Jazz dancers who are tearing it up in Solo competitions.

 

SOUL STEP LINE DANCE
Learn a fun Soul Step line dance before the Soul Party!

SOUL TRAIN
Join Chester & ERock in this fun and high energy Soul Train class. Chester and ERock, who were both on the original show Soul Train, will get you ready for the Soul Party!

 

BALBOA & SHAG CLASSES

ST LOUIS SHAG
Learn the basics of St Louis Shag, which evolved from Lindy Hop, Shag and Charleston.

Learn some fun and unexpected variations in Shag.

FOLLOWER VOICE: STYLE OVER STYLING

Learn how to increase your connection with your partner while displaying some of your own style.

MUSICALITY

It's all about the music - let's explore ways to bring musicality into your Lindy Hop to create a dynamic experience.

ADVANCED SATURDAY AND SUNDAY TRACK ELECTIVES
IT'S ALL SWING
You don't have to be married to lindy hop. It's more fun when "It's complicated".

CENTRAL AVENUE LINDY HOP

Learn the stylings and fundamentals of Lindy Hop that was danced in Central Avenue in Los Angeles.
 

FOLLOWER LED MOVES

Explore different techniques and moves that the follower can initiate in Lindy Hop to create a unique and dynamic partnership while expressing yourself.

JAZZ UP YOUR LINDY HOP
This class will focus on creative ways to incorporate Jazz movements and steps into your Lindy Hop.

SPIRIT oF THE JITTERBUG
During the swing era, dancers would commonly learn and mix together all variety of swing dances. Three styles that were particularly prominent in original-era Southern California were Lindy, Balboa, and Shag, and all three styles can still be seen mixed together on SoCal’s social dance floors to this day. Come explore the basics of each style, what makes them all similar and different, and play with creative ways to blend them together within one social dance.

SOLO GROOVES
Solo movement and moves accompanied by R&B, 50s and 60s tunes.

CONVERSING IN SOLO JAZZ
Individuality, self expression, and community are core values of Black American music, dance, and culture. Our stories come alive through our movement, connecting us to one another. Together we will peal back the layers potentially blocking our ability to be vulnerable in our bodies and the way we connect with the community around us.

LINDY HOP & BLUES ELECTIVES
*INTERMEDIATE AND INTERMEDIATE PLUS TRACK CLASSES WILL BE LINDY HOP AND ARE NOT TITLED. THIS ALLOWS THE INSTRUCTORS TO PROVIDE  CONTENT TO EACH CLASS INDIVIDUALLY BASED ON WHAT THEY NEED.

 

JIG WALK VARIATIONS FOR YOUR LINDY HOP
Interesting and challenging variations on this quintessential step to add repertoire to your Lindy Hop.

MORE FANCY LINDY HOP MOVES
Learn some fun and fancy moves and variations to spice up your Lindy Hop and expand your repertoire.

CONVERSATIONAL LINDY HOP
In this class, we will explore how both partners can contribute equally to a conversational dance that goes beyond just responding to each other visually. To do so, we will deep dive into partnership technique and mechanics and then learn how to use them to communicate with each other.

 

SWITCH IT UP

Learn the principles of Switch dancing, including popular Switch moments within 6 count Lindy patterns.

1920’s
Lindy Hop was born out of the dancing from the 1920’s and the Charleston. Learn variations and movements from the 1920’s.

LINDY HOP VS. BALBOA

Dancers in Southern California did their own brand of Swing (nowadays referred to as "Bal-Swing") before Dean Collins brought Lindy Hop from the East Coast. Come explore Blake and Grace’s approach to SoCal Lindy (sometimes referred to as "LA style") and learn some new "twists" on classic Lindy Hop moves and connection technique!


SHARING VIBES IN YOUR LINDY HOP
How to allow the tone, style, and sub-genre of the music seep into your dancing to add the texture, weight, and depth that may be missing from your dancing. 

BLUES & SLOW DANCING
Learn how to shine when the tempos slow down with different techniques, styling, patterns and movements.

SOUL STEP PARTNER DANCE
Learn how to Soul Step partner dance with lead and follow techniques, movements and footwork.
