FULL WEEKEND PASSES
There will be classes on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. There is a 30 minute check in and warm up prior to the start of each day of classes.
Saturday-11:00am-4:45pm
Sunday-11:00am-4:45pm
Monday-11:00am-2:30pm
DROP IN CLASSES are $20 each. If the drop in class is audition only, you will need to go to the class and let the staff person know you would like to audition for a drop in. We will have someone audition you on the spot and if there is space and the balance isn't disrupted, you can take the class. Please arrive at least 15 min early!
We have booked 7 INCREDIBLE venues for the workshops this year so our students can have room to move! All within a few blocks from each other, these workshop venues are in the heart of Capitol Hill in Seattle.
Feel free to stop by the CJ headquarters to have any questions answered during the camp. Any of our CJ staff or volunteers can help you.
Location: Knights of Columbus, 722 East Union Street.
Please show up by the time your track auditions (audition for Masters starts at 9:30am and Advanced Plus at 9:45am and Advanced at 10:00am sharp) (classes start at 11:00) if you are signed up for the Advanced, Advanced Plus or Masters track. These are audition only tracks so you MUST show up. Beginner, Intermediate and Intermediate Plus tracks DO NOT need to audition. Please do not be late since we will have a short amount of time. The audition is very low key...everyone will be rotating between different partners social dancing to mid tempo music. You will be placed in the appropriate track...either Advanced, Advanced Plus or Masters. The decision is relative to the other dancers auditioning. Location: Knights of Columbus, 722 East Union Street.
BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, INTERMEDIATE PLUS, ADVANCED, ADVANCED PLUS AND MASTER LEVELS
We have decided to split the camp into six track levels in order to place dancers in tracks that are more appropriate to their skill level. We are also requiring the top three levels to audition this year. PLEASE READ TRACK LEVELS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU PICK. Be sure to check the level you intend to take when you register. Please note that ALL ELECTIVES ARE OPEN TO ALL TRACKS except beginners. WE DO NOT ALLOW TRACK JUMPING BETWEEN TRACK LEVELS!!! This is very important since it will disturb the class sizes and balance throughout the weekend. Once you pick a track, you have to stay in that track. If you are unsure which level you should take, please contact Tonya.
BEGINNER
Camp Jitterbug is an amazing way for beginners to become inspired and learn a lot in a short amount time to Lindy Hop. We have created a positive and effective learning environment for our beginner track after many years of fine tuning and feedback. While a lot of beginners get lost in big dance events, our beginners will be well taken care of. We have a coaching system with our special guest instructor Michael Seguin (Baltimore, MD). The beginners will take classes with the main camp instructors while Michael teaches in between to help the campers grasp all of the material. He also provides a lot of one on one help during class times. It is a great way for new dancers to build friendships and get the tools to start dancing in a welcoming, friendly environment. If you have any friends that want to learn, send them to CJ!!!
