P.O.C. KickBack
Hello everyone! My name Camille Smith and I am hosting a P.O.C. kickback this year during Camp Jitterbug. It will be Sunday 05/25 at The Library at The Washington Hall from 5pm-7pm.
The P.O.C. Kickback is a time for POC dancers and Seattle locals to connect with each other and be able to discuss their feelings since being dancers in the Lindy Hop scene. For the people not apart of Lindy Hop, they are encouraged to share their worldview as well.
We do have some boundaries to set for Non POCs that would like to attend:
-
If you are coming to the POC kickback we will be expecting people to come into the space with the heart of Allyship, meaning the heart to serve those of you of a different background than you.
-
We are there to validate the experiences of those around you, if you do have questions this is not the space to do so. We are questioned constantly and this is not the space to do that.
-
Lastly, we require the silence of the non POCs. Your silence will be platforming the voices of those who have been silenced in their own communities.
If those rules are not abided by, I will kindly ask you to leave the space in order to maintain the sacredness of people sharing their emotions.
If anyone has questions, please contact me via email cbsmith538@gmail.com.

Your host, Camille Smith
